1.) Haha. I'll be honest. I've got nothing on DMT other than what I've heard, the various scheduling's I've read on erowid and subsequent sites(and after a time wading through the technical garbage of law, I realized that I couldn't find a damn thing on punishment and NO precedents for DMT- that paper trail is hell to muck through; LSD on the other hand, that's ridiculous.. they treat it like MURDER).
2.) You know, I wouldn't be surprised. In it's use by various tribes throughout south america, was described as having transported it's users to the other side of the gate of life and death.
3.) I'm saying that we've evolved alongside psychedelic drugs, I suppose, not that they neccesarily prompted that change, but that it is a definite possibility, especially considering how the psychedelics, especially DMT, almost appear themselves to urge the user to consider their language, consider the manner in which they communicate, as well as how frequently they show up in our past. From early Christian gnostics eating psychedelic snails to African tribesmen munching on Ibogaine and the children of israel seeing god via the sacred manna of the earth (mushrooms growing after a fresh rainfall on the shitfields). Why were they not such a problem at those times? Or why was that problem not written about? It's this society. The society, our culture of fear and of presumption, is at odds with these substances because they threaten the ideas and values that they hold dear. An enhanced ability to perceive patterns, an enhanced appreciation for the power of sound and vocalization, a stimulation of the language center of the brain.
4.) And you should toss your television out man. Have a REAL adventure instead of sitting on your couch watching your TV. Or don't. That is YOUR choice. If you want to (arguably) hurt your brain and submit to that particular breed of brainwashing, that is YOUR choice. It makes me sad that you joke about it, honestly, and I mean that in a compassionate sense. Don't you feel like we were meant for more than ... t h a t? Sometimes it feels as though they've bred the adventure and the imagination right out of us..
5.) How is it ANY of YOUR business, in YOUR life, what other people are doing to make themselves MORE or LESS "retarded"? If the oppression of other's makes you that happy, I recommend a career in the military.

Now I don't disagree with you. A lot of people want to use drugs to simply get FUCKED up. But man, you do that with psychedelics... and you aren't going to be doing it very long. It's not about getting fucked up. It's about realizing that you, your personality, the universe which you create every day by experiencing matter via thought, is a program. It is programmed into you based on the culture you intake and that which you surround yourself with, and ultimately, YOU are the programmer. Any insecurities you have, you can smash them. Any fears you have, you can smash them. Any worries you have, you can smash them. Thing is most people are comfortable with their fear and insecurities. And that's cool. If they want that kind of life, continually feeling not-good-enough, not-smart-enough, not-beautiful-enough, continually failing to ascribe to the mixed signals that the culture sends to them, cool. But I'm sick of it, personally, and I don't care if anybody else comes with me, but if I see a road and I want to walk down it, why should I not be given that liberty, that sweet, beautiful freedom? what's the best way to sort through the propaganda, find the truth? TRY IT YOURSELF. You can believe what you want but I approached drugs with the intent of getting F'ED up for awhile, and it made me feel like shit. I knew I was misusing pot by smoking it every day. I knew I was misusing mushrooms by eating them at an amusement park (great place for spiritual enlightenment, hoo boo... haha). And I've left that path behind. But still small minded dudes like you want to control the lives of other people because they can't get over the bad shit that happened to them in THEIR past.

We've only just begun to touch the TIP of the iceberg on psychedelics and their use as a "spiritual catalyst". Manna (mushrooms) in the Bible and other writings from the time and region. Soma (some people believe this to be marijuana) from India as written about in the Upanishads and the Bhavagad Gita. They're just starting to be allowed to perform tests with substances such as psilocybin and DMT after years of social stigma over a bunch of bullshit we were fed about hallucinogens. They're not without their risks. But neither is a n y t h i n g. Outlaw parachuting. Outlaw mountain climbing. Outlaw any thrill seeking whatsoever, what the hell. You know the only reason those people are risking their lives is for the chemical rush, those nasty druggies. Outlaw sex. Outlaw any pleasure or terror or fear or ecstasy at all. Have you read any of the Strassman Studies from New Mexico yet? Have you read any of the California studies on psilocybic mushrooms?

My biggest question for you is if YOU have EVER personally had experience with LSD, psilocybin, exogenous DMT, salvorin a, or ANY potent psychedelic? Because if you haven't, if you're relying on stories that you've heard and studies that you've read then you cannot really say anything meaningful about the subject. You cannot simply send somebody else into that room for you and judge their experience without actually seeing and experiencing through their eyes. You cannot judge the substances without first venturing within them (if you want any kind of meaningful judgement of them). There's more to a book than what you see on it's cover. And it's understandable that YOU may not have the courage (or the stupidity) to venture into the pages, but if somebody else wishes to take that internal quest, then that is THEIR choice. Making these substances illegal simply because SOME people are affected negatively (based on what? what is negative? how do you define it? why should it be defined that way instead of another?), despite their long history of use (well, not the synthetics) within our species, is absolutely fucking ridiculous. If you're going to do that you might as well outlaw AUTOMOBILES and FAST FOOD and TELEVISION. Shit, the first one isn't only damaging US, killing US, but it's damaging the ECOSYSTEM which we inhabit and people are still worrying about what we're putting in our individual bodies C O N S E N S U A L L Y? It's only in the past thousand years that these drugs have been so incredibly STIGMATIZED by our societies. The past hundred and fifty alone have done a number on them.

There are some drugs that I'd never do. Methamphetamine. Alkaloid cocaine/crack. Heroin. And that works for me. Meanwhile about once a year I have a psychedelic experience and I feel richer, calmer, more at peace for doing so. I use marijuana once a week, on Saturday's (which I've made my day of rest), usually in conjuction with a canvas and some paints. Bad trips are an effect of bad planning. Of negative attitude. Of not realizing how much control you have in the environment around you while you're tripping. Taking too much. And yeah, people will make these mistakes, but that's how you learn. And if some people learn via death, so be it.

http://www.maps.org/research/ketamine/kprotocol2.html Just a little bit of what can be found. Because of the counter-culture recreational use of the drug LSD and the resulting paranoia of "straight" society about the PERILS and DANGERS of it's use (what really frightens me is the people who made the commercials asserting those dangers and how deranged THEIR minds must have been), LSD research was basically dropped, and that is a real, real shame. Are the trippers to blame or is it the initial reaction of FEAR to anything new and UNKNOWN emitted from straight society? Both, of course; one can't exist without the other. There is so much potential for altering the way we perceive, think, feel, and express ourselves via the use of hallucinogens and yet, for the FEAR of the masses, we've locked that door, we've locked ourselves away from those experiences. Honestly, what do you, or ANYONE else, truly know about life, death, what lies beyond, our purpose, the purpose of life, where we came from, where we're going, the nature of time, to tell people that they shouldn't tamper with it? It boggles the mind, the rules we try to make up for our human counterparts. Bunch of insane apes with a SEVERE case of anthropocentrism. I don't know. I'm just going on, too much coffeeeeee. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I know I can't change your mind (that's something only you can do), but I hope that some of this will ring true to you. I can understand where you are coming from, at least partially, from the information you've transmitted to me, and I hope that your life is filled with infinite joy, fellow sapien. I love you for being here, and I love you for having a different viewpoint from mine. adam HIM: i think i said it right the first time: get a job, hippie. me: Thanks also for presuming to know my intent and aim, because we have spent so much time together that you would be able to draw accurate and detailed conclusions about my self. It's easy to categorize people and forget that they are, like you, a human being, full of each and every potential as you. Life is good when it's easy. Ignorance is bliss. Get. A. Job. Hippie. What is it with that? Lump people into one negative category so that it makes it easier to HATE them. As if the hippies, the one's who were in it whole hog, had ANYTHING resembling a bad idea. I mean, yeah, if you look at them from within the perspective of the cultural machine you are a part of, they're just stupid hippies, and the alternative mode of life they suggest is ridiculous and unrealistic. But if you take a step back, step outside of the cultural conduit, the global conduit you were born and raised in, it starts to become obvious that everything you are is simply learned and nothing else, and that the world could be anything you want it to be. We are on the FAST TRACK, on the FREEWAY to destruction. Our language and our culture eats itself alive. And all takes to STOP is to... pull the car over. Live more simply. Even just a little bit more, not even as drastic as sharing everything you have, growing your own food with the LOVE and JOY that it deserves, realizing alternate levels of the reality matrix, showing yourself fully, weaknesses and all, to anyone and everyone you meet. Even just talking to those people in line with you at the gas station, being genuinely interested. But I know that one has the UNESCAPEABLE urge to feel that the way of life they are living is the right way because otherwise one might feel empty. Hollow. Like what you do in the world doesn't really amount to anything. Like you're just on a rock in space, one of trillions, one of an infinity of rocks. Of course you've got it, man, continue to perform in this world as an apostle of hate. The only person you've got to confront at the end of it is your self. I know there is the apparent physical reality of cables and wires and my hands typing this but if you go beyond that, this is you, this is your mind communicating with itself. Shrug this off. It's nothing.
