straight and to the point
ford escape xlt? funny that they call it that because, while a car can get you to many new places, it's hardly an escape. really, it's just one more thing to keep you rooted firmly to where you are.i wrote this yesterday, before work, sitting behind the building and watching cars go by. after work, my own car became lodged in a sticky mud-goo. five cars stopped. one tried to help. then they left. then another group of people, my friends came in a jeep. then the first two people (incredibly drunk) arrived. and then, to top it off, a huge truck showed up, apparently on the insistence of the drunk boys. it was a party in the middle of a plot of quicksand. after a failed attempt we got my car out. mud-cake shoes and tires around the house. she drives a little weird now. i'm done with this job in four days.
